Wolfpack looking to rebound against rival Blue Devils
Now that football season is over we turn our full attention to college basketball, and the ongoing battles for conference championships and NCAA tournament berths.
Here's a quick preview of what's happening in college hoops this week.
Monday night's big game takes place in the Big East as No. 9 Syracuse, losers of two games in a row, hosts No. 25 Notre Dame. The Orange are also just 1-5 ATS over their last six games.
Tuesday offers up a big game in the Big Ten as No. 3 Michigan hosts No. 10 Ohio State. The Wolverines reached the top spot in the polls last week, then lost that perch when they were defeated at Indiana Saturday night 81-73. So not only will Michigan try to avoid a second straight loss Tuesday, it will also be looking to avenge a 56-53 defeat at the hands of the Buckeyes three weeks ago.
Also Tuesday No. 8 Miami, which is 13-4 ATS this season, hosts 10-11 Boston College; No. 2 Florida, which is 12-5 ATS and holding opponents to just 51 PPG this season, visits 13-8 Arkansas; and unranked Kentucky, at 15-6, hosts 12-9 South Carolina.
Wednesday offers up another matchup of ranked Big Ten teams as No. 12 Michigan State hosts No. 18 Minnesota. The Spartans are only 7-11 ATS this season, while the Gophers are a profitable 13-7 vs. the numbers.
Also Wednesday No. 14 Butler hosts 10-10 St. Bonaventure; 15-6 Central Florida hosts 18-4 Southern Miss; and No. 16 Creighton goes on the road to face a 14-8 Indiana State team that has already pulled upsets of Ole Miss, Miami and Wichita State this season.
And for Thursday No. 4 Duke hosts a 16-6 North Carolina State outfit that just fell out of the Top 25 thanks to consecutive losses to Virginia and Miami.
