Patriots host Eagles in preseason marquee matchup
Star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Michael Vick are both expected to play significant minutes tonight as the favored Patriots play host to the Eagles in a Monday Night Football preseason matchup at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
New England is currently listed as a 1.5-point favorite at most online sportsbooks tracked by OddsShark.com, with the total recently climbing to 41.5 points.
Both teams won their respective first games of the preseason schedule, with the Patriots failing to cover the 4-point spread as favorites in a 7-6 victory over New Orleans, while the Eagles recorded a push as 1-point chalk in their 24-23 win over Pittsburgh.
New England blasted Philadelphia 38-20 last November at Lincoln Financial Field, with Brady throwing for 361 yards and three touchdowns while Vick missed that game with injured ribs.
The Patriots are listed as 11/2 chalk on the current futures odds to win Super Bowl XLVII, while the Eagles are rated fourth (behind the Packers and 49ers) at 11/1 odds.
Kickoff tonight is at 8:00 pm Eastern.
