NFL Betting: Chiefs vs. Broncos in SNF showdown

The Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated and sitting in first place in the AFC West standings heading into Week 11 of the season, but they'll get their toughest test to date on Sunday Night Football as they take on Peyton Manning and the Broncos as NFL betting underdogs in Denver.

The Chiefs sit at 9-0 SU and 6-3 ATS on the season after rolling through the first half of their schedule and into their Week 10 bye, but none of those victories came against top teams - they've beaten the Jaguars, Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Titans, Raiders, Texans, Browns, and Bills.

That changes on Sunday Night Football as they take on the Broncos as road underdogs, with Denver just a game behind them in the AFC West standings at 8-1 SU (5-4 ATS) on the season. The Broncos' lone loss came in Week 7 in Indianapolis; they've managed to beat the Ravens, Giants, Raiders, Eagles, Cowboys, Jaguars, Redskins, and Chargers.

Denver's win over the Chargers came last week in San Diego, when Manning went 25 of 36 for 330 yards passing with four touchdowns and no interceptions in a 28-20 win as a 7-point favorite on the NFL odds. Manning has now thrown 33 TD strikes and been picked off just six times so far this season, posting a QB Rating of 121.0 in the process; by comparison, his career QB Rating is 96.8.

Demaryius Thomas made seven catches for 108 yards with three touchdowns in that win for the Broncos, while Julius Thomas had the other TD reception in the contest.

The Chiefs last played back in Week 9 in Buffalo, when they won 23-13 as a 4.5-point road favorite on the NFL betting lines. Alex Smith completed 19 of his 29 pass attempts for just 124 yards with no TDs and no INTs in that win for Kansas City; Smith has a QB Rating of 81.4 with nine touchdown strikes and four interceptions so far this year.

The Broncos opened as 8-point favorites on the NFL betting board at the sportsbooks for their Sunday Night Football home game against the Chiefs, with the OVER/UNDER for the game opening at 50.5 points. Denver is 8-1 on the OVER/UNDER so far this season, while Kansas City is 2-7.

The Broncos went 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS against the Chiefs last season, with the OVER/UNDER going 0-1-1 in those two contests. Overall the Broncos are 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games against the Chiefs, with the OVER/UNDER sitting at 4-5-1 in those 10 matchups.

Manning's old team kicks off Week 11 of the NFL season on Thursday Night Football as Indianapolis plays on the road in Tennessee, while the Monday Night Football matchup for this week is New England at Carolina. The Titans opened as 2-point home favorites at the sportsbooks, while the Panthers opened as 1.5-point home favorites.

On Sunday afternoon in Week 11 it'll then be Cleveland at Cincinnati (-6.5), Washington at Philadelphia (-3), Baltimore at Chicago (-4), Detroit (-3) at Pittsburgh, Atlanta (-2.5) at Tampa Bay, the Jets at Buffalo (-1.5), Arizona (-6.5) at Jacksonville, Oakland at Houston (-6), San Diego at Miami (-1.5), Green Bay at the Giants (-3), Minnesota at Seattle (-13.5), and San Francisco at New Orleans (-2.5).
