NBA Playoffs Betting Update: Changing Scenery
First-round play continues in the NBA playoffs as the eight series make their first change of venues starting Thursday night. Here's a quick look at what's happening in the Association over the next few days, with of course some NBA betting odds for consideration.
The defending NBA champion Miami Heat, as expected, took the first two games of their series at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. Now the teams head north for Games 3 and 4 Thursday night (7 pm ET, TNT) and Sunday afternoon at the Bradley Center.
The Chicago Bulls managed to split the first two games of their series in Brooklyn with the Nets. Now the teams head to Windy City for Games 3 and 4 Thursday night (8:30 pm ET, NBATV) and Saturday afternoon at the United Center.
The LA Clippers, like Miami, held serve on their home court, winning the first two games of their series with the Grizzlies. Now the teams move to Memphis for Games 3 and 4 Thursday night (9:30 pm ET, TNT) and Saturday at FedExForum.
As of Thursday morning most NBA playoff betting outlets were listing the Heat at -7.5 for Thursday night over the Bucks; the Bulls were favored by 3.5 points over the Nets; and the Grizzlies were favored by four points over the Clippers.
Friday night the Knicks and Celtics, with New York up two games to none, resume their series with a Game 3 in Boston (8 pm ET, ESPN). Also Friday, the Nuggets and Warriors, tied at a game apiece, play their Game 3 in Oakland (10:30 pm ET, ESPN2); and the Spurs and Kobe-less Lakers, with San Antonio up 2-0, play their Game 3 at Staples Center (10:30 pm ET, ESPN).
In the early betting on Friday's games the Celts were favored by three points over the Knicks; the Spurs were chalked by three points over the Lakers; and the Warriors were favored by three points over the Nuggets.
Then Saturday, the Hawks and Pacers, with Indiana up 2-0, resume their series in Atlanta (7 pm ET, ESPN), and the Thunder and Rockets, with OKC up 2-0, play their Game 3 in Houston (9:30 pm ET, ESPN). In early betting the Hawks were favored by two points over Indy, and the Thunder were favored by three points over the Rockets.
