MLB Betting: Rangers, Athletics all set for rematch
Having paid out against the Oakland Athletics in two of their three matchups last week the Texas Rangers will get a chance to turn a profit against their division rival once again this week as the teams highlight the MLB betting slate with a three-game series.
Texas and Oakland get their series in Arlington underway on Monday night, with the Rangers going 2-1 on the MLB betting odds against the Athletics in a series victory last week – Texas won 6-5 and 6-2 after dropping the opener of that series by a 5-1 score.
Overall, though, the Rangers have only managed to pick up the win in four of their past 10 games against the Athletics dating back to last season, with the OVER/UNDER going 4-5-1 in those contests. The UNDER paid out in two of their matchups last week.
MLB bettors will be taking note of Tuesday's projected pitchers for this series, with the Rangers expected to send Yu Darvish to the mound to face off against Oakland's Daniel Straily. Darvish is 7-1 on the season and Texas is 8-1 over his nine trips to the mound, with the righthander posting a 2.97 ERA and fanning 86 over 60 2-3 innings.
After playing Oakland early this week the Rangers will hit the road for a three-game weekend series against the Seattle Mariners. The Athletics, meanwhile, will be looking to pick up some easy wins on the weekend as they travel to Houston to face the Astros. Oakland is 6-0 so far this season against Houston, with the OVER/UNDER 5-1.
Baseball bettors looking instead for some National League action this week can turn their attention to San Francisco, with the Giants playing host to the Washington Nationals in a three-game series that gets underway on Monday night. Meeting for the first time this season, the Giants are just 1-5 over their last six games against the Nats.
San Francisco will then play host to Colorado this weekend in a three-game series, with both of those clubs looking to get past Arizona and into first place in the NL West standings. The Giants are 4-2 over their six games against the Rockies so far this season, but Colorado did manage to pick up the win in each of their last two meetings. MLB totals bettors saw the OVER/UNDER pay off at 5-1 in those half-dozen matchups.
Meanwhile, the NL's worst team will play host to the Philadelphia Phillies early this week, with the Miami Marlins mired in the basement of both the NL East and the National League. The Marlins, though, have at least been competitive with the Phillies so far this season, managing to win three of their seven meetings through two series.
Miami is then on the road for an interleague series against the White Sox this weekend, while the Phillies head up to Washington for three games against the Nationals. The UNDER has paid out in seven of the last 10 Nats vs. Phillies matchups.
