MLB Betting: Giants, Cardinals among streaking clubs
Baseball bettors have plenty of streaking teams to choose from heading into this week, with nearly a dozen clubs riding (or dragging) steaks of at least three games.
Leading the way are the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants, both of whom have won six games in a row. The Cardinals just swept four games from the Brewers in Milwaukee, and the Giants just swept three games at home from the rival Dodgers.
On Monday the Giants will try to extend their streak as they start a three-game series at home against the Philadelphia Phillies, while the Cardinals have Monday off before playing a quick two-game series vs. the Cubs at Wrigley on Tuesday and Wednesday.
As of Monday morning San Francisco was favored by -185 at most MLB betting outlets to win its series against Philly.
Also Monday the Kansas City Royals, winners of four in a row, host the Chicago White Sox in the postponed finale of a three-game series in KC.
On Tuesday the Detroit Tigers, also winners of four straight, begin a quick two-game set with the Nationals in Washington.
At the other end of the streaky spectrum the Houston Astros, losers of six in a row after getting swept by Detroit over the weekend, get Monday off before hosting a three-game series with their new division rivals, the LA Angels, starting Tuesday. In early betting Houston was getting +185 to win that series as a home dog.
Also, the Brewers, losers of five in a row, take Monday off before hosting Texas for two games Tuesday and Wednesday; the Cubs, who have lost four in a row, host the Rangers in a makeup game Monday; and the Dodgers, losers of four straight, host Arizona for three games starting Monday night.
As of Monday morning Los Angeles was favored by -170 to win its series with the Diamondbacks.
