Despite loss, Hoosiers still top futures market for March Madness
With Indiana and Duke already tasting defeat this week, might we expect more of the same from the teams at the top of the polls this weekend?
Saturday's action begins, among other places, in the Big East, where No. 10 Louisville and No. 12 Syracuse hook up at the Carrier Dome (Noon ET, CBS).
Down in the SEC No. 8 Florida, which is just 2-6 ATS over its last eight games, hosts 19-9 Alabama (Noon ET, ESPN).
In what should be a dandy game in the Atlantic 10 No. 20 Butler visits 22-6 VCU (Noon ET, ESPN2).
In Conference USA No. 19 Memphis will try to keep its league record perfect when it visits 19-9 Central Florida (1 pm ET, Fox Sports).
In the Big 12 a couple of NCAA tournament hopefuls meet when 18-9 Oklahoma hosts 19-9 Iowa State (1:30 pm ET, ESPN3).
Back in the Big East No. 22 Marquette hosts No. 21 Notre Dame (2 pm ET, ESPN), and 19-9 Cincinnati hosts 19-8 Connecticut (2 pm ET, ESPN3).
In a showdown that will decide the Missouri Valley's regular-season championship 24-6 Wichita State visits 23-7 Creighton (2 pm ET, ESPN2).
Back in the SEC 17-9 LSU, trying to play its way onto the Big Dance bubble, visits 20-8 Missouri (4 pm ET, ESPN3), and 20-8 Kentucky visits 17-11 Arkansas (4 pm ET, CBS).
In a matchup of Pac-12 tournament hopefuls 19-9 Cal hosts 19-8 Colorado (5 pm ET, ESPNU).
In probably the premier game of the weekend No. 3 Duke goes looking for revenge when it hosts No. 5 Miami (6 pm ET, ESPN).
Back in the Big 12 bubbling Baylor, at 17-11, hosts No. 13 Kansas State (7 pm ET, ESPN2).
No. 1 Indiana, coming off a loss to Minnesota Tuesday, hosts 18-10 Iowa (7:30 pm ET, BTN).
Out in the Mountain West 22-6 Colorado State, with its No. 17 RPI rating, visits bubbling Boise State (8 pm ET).
And back out in the Pac-12 No. 11 Arizona visits 21-7 UCLA (9 pm ET, ESPN).
Moving ahead to Sunday 18-11 Villanova, which can't afford too many more setbacks if it hopes to make the NCAA tournament, visits No. 23 Pittsburgh (Noon ET, ESPN3). And in a Big Ten in-state battle No. 4 Michigan hosts No. 9 Michigan State (4 pm ET, CBS).
On the updated NCAA tournament futures market Indiana tops the board at odds of 9/2, followed by, among others, Florida and Duke at 7/1, Miami and Michigan at 8/1, Louisville and Michigan State at 10/1, Syracuse at 15/1, Arizona at 25/1, Marquette, Mizzou and K State at 50/1, UCLA and Pitt at 60/1, Butler and VCU at 75/1, and Colorado, Cal, Notre Dame, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Memphis, Colorado State and defending champion Kentucky each at 100/1.
