Conference championships seize pre-Madness spotlight

We're knee-deep into that crazy time of the college basketball season, as major conference title races come to a conclusion the same time many other conferences are playing their tournaments. All of which makes for some great NCAA hoops betting.

Here's a quick look at just some of this weekend's action, with a little something extra for the bettors out there.

Saturday begins with a dandy out of the Big East, with two great longtime rivals meeting for what could be the last time in a long time as No. 5 Georgetown hosts No. 17 Syracuse (Noon ET, ESPN).

Down in the SEC No. 11 Florida visits a desperate 20-10 Kentucky (Noon ET, CBS).

In the Atlantic 10 No. 16 St. Louis hosts a 21-7 LaSalle team trying to make the NCAA tournament for the first time in 20 years (1:30 pm ET, NBC Sports).

Tournament-bound teams from the Big 12 meet as No. 9 Kansas State visits No. 13 Oklahoma State (1:30 pm ET).

In the Mountain West 20-9 Boise State, a tournament bubble team at the moment, hosts 21-8 San Diego State (3:30 pm ET, NBC Sports).

Back in the Big East No. 8 Louisville, shooting for a regular-season conference title and maybe a top seed in the Big Dance, hosts No. 24 Notre Dame (4 pm ET, CBS).

Back in the SEC 18-11 and bubbling Tennessee hosts 22-8 Missouri (4 pm ET, ESPN).

Out in the Pac-12 Arizona State, at 20-10 and on the edge of the bubble, visits No. 18 Arizona (4:30 pm ET, Fox Sports).

No. 4 Kansas goes looking for a ninth straight Big 12 regular-season title when it visits 17-13 Baylor (6 pm ET, ESPN).

And finally, for a Saturday nightcap, No. 3 Duke heads down Tobacco Road for a meeting with 22-8 North Carolina (9 pm ET, ESPN).

On Sunday 22-8 Temple gets a chance to enhance its tournament resume when it hosts No. 21 VCU (Noon ET, CBS). Also Sunday No. 14 Ohio State hosts 21-10 Illinois (12:30 pm ET, ESPN); No. 7 Michigan hosts No. 2 Indiana (4 pm ET, CBS); and in a key game in the ACC 20-10 Maryland visits 20-10 Virginia (6 pm ET, ESPNU).

And that's not to mention all the conference tournament play taking place at points scattered across the college basketball landscape.

On the updated NCAA championship board Indiana still tops the betting at 5/1, followed by, among others, Duke at 6/1, Florida and Louisville at 7/1, Michigan at 8/1, Kansas and Georgetown at 10/1, Syracuse at 18/1, Ohio State at 20/1, St. Louis at 25/1, Arizona at 30/1, North Carolina and Kansas State at 40/1, Oklahoma State at 50/1, Missouri and VCU at 60/1 and Illinois, Virginia and Notre Dame at 100/1.
