Belmont Park Wagering: Race of Day for Friday Sept. 14
A field of eight New York bred three-year-old fillies will line up in the featured race at Belmont Park on Friday, the $85,000 Judy Soda, a one mile betting race on the main track.
The John Parisella trained Sunny Desert is the 2-1 morning line betting favorite and comes into the race riding a three race win streak, and she has landed in the exacta in six of her eight career starts.
Her main rivals figure to be Shesabronxbomber (8-1), who is switching back to the main track after coming up short on turf in her latest, and I Bet Toni Knows (3-1), who won the New York Stallion Series Cupecoy’s Joy, but has been on the sidelines for 3 ½ months
The nine race card gets underway at 12:50 ET with today’s feature going off as the fifth race with a post time of 2:58 ET.
Coming up on Saturday at Belmont Park is a pair of graded stakes on grass for the ladies that could produce a few Breeders’ Cup contenders.
The eighth race on Saturday is the $150,000 Noble Damsel (G3) for fillies and mares going a mile on the turf.
Nine will line up including the Chad Brown trained Dealbata, who is the 3-1 morning line favorite.
The following race on the Saturday afternoon card is the $300,000 Garden City (G1), the first Grade 1 race of the Belmont Park fall championship meeting.
A field of seven three-year-old fillies will go to the post for the 1 1/8 mile event on the inner turf course.
Brown will saddle the 8-5 morning line favorite Samitar, the Irish 1000 Guineas (G1) winner in Ireland back in April.
The filly made her U.S. debut in a third place finsh in the Lake George (G2) at Saratoga on July 25.
Her main rivals figure to be Ashland (G1) winner Karlovy Vary (5-2) and the Todd Pletcher trained Ciao Bella (10-1), who makes her turf debut.

Let’s head out to Belmont Park for Friday’s featured betting race of the day:
Belmont Park Race 5 The Judy Soda (Post time 2:58 ET)
2 Shesabronxbomber 8-1
4 Sunny Desert 2-1
1 I Bet Toni Knows 3-1
8 Hot Splash 8-1
Analysis: Shesabronxbomber switches back to the main track after checking in fourth last out against state bred Alw-2 optional claimers. The winner of that race was Shakeria, who came back to beat starter optional claimers in her next outing on Sept. 2 at Saratoga. Our top pick has not been on a fast main track since April where she beat Alw-1 optional claimers at Hawthorne. She is in good hands with the Larry Rivelli barn and the one turn mile on the main track seems likely to suit her. her only start facing stakes company came over polytrack three back at Arlington Park where she was fifth, and that was facing open company. She fits here with her best and the 8-1 morning line looks more than fair.
Sunny Desert comes into this race riding a three race win streak including a win in a New York Stallion Series race two back sprinting over the main track here. Last out at Saratoga she beat state bred Alw-2 optional claimers going 6 1/2 furlongs. The runner up in that race was Easy Ending, who came back to beat state bred Alw-2 foes in her next outing on here on Sept. 12. She broke her maiden three back going a one turn mile at the Big A, drawing off to win by15 1/4 lengths so she certainly seems capable of handling the stretch out. The Parisella barn is 39% winners (with a +ROI) moving runners from sprint to route.
WIN: #2 to win at 9-2 or better.
EX: 2,4 / 1,2,4,8
TRI: 2,4 / 1,2,4,8 / 1,2,4,7,8
